DAVOSA Vintage Rally Pilot Chronograph The "Pilot" chronograph was created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Wright brothers' historic flight in 2003. In 2013, this popular model celebrated its own milestone: ten years of the DAVOSA Pilot chronograph. This is a chronograph — capable of measuring more than just time. It helps the wearer determine speed and distance, eliminating the need for complicated calculations using physical constants and formulas. These functions were once essential features for pilots and rally drivers alike — whether for determining the distance to an approaching storm (telemeter) or calculating average race speed (tachymeter). The telemeter scale allows you to calculate the distance between a sound source and your own position. In simple terms, it can be used to estimate how close a storm is: start the chronograph at the moment of the lightning flash and stop it at the first sound of thunder.
