This is a 1960's Wittnauer Electro-Chron men's wristwatch. This is listed as having a 'quartz' movement because there isn't a category for this watch. The movement is a 11EW2 Landeron high grade Swiss electro-mechanical hack set movement. It has 12 jewels and a shock protected balance. The original battery for this watch is obsolete, so a custom made rubber spacer has been installed. Now the watch will accept a standard watch battery. This will take an Energizer 390/389. Two free batteries are included with your purchase. The battery was replaced March 1, 2025. The watch is running very well. I have added a photo of the watch on a timegrapher. As you can see the movement is very healthy and running well. The original silvered metal dial has applied gold markers and it is in excellent condition with only a couple of very small marks. The hands are original including the 'lightning bolt' sweep second hand. The case is 10 karat gold filled, and is in excellent condition. The crown is a new old stock rose gold plated replacement. The band is vintage Speidel in gold plated and stainless steel. This watch looks great and is keeping good time. This is a rare, sought after model that you will be proud to wear.
