Heuer had finished his studies in 1958 and was invited to join the company. It must be remembered that at that time their comfortable and uncrowded niche market of chronograph makers suddenly became overloaded with 600 other Swiss watch manufacturers. After some analysis of strategy and production, Heuer decided to withdraw from the time-only market and focus once again on chronographs.
