Purchased from an elderly watchmaker in excellent condition, this watch was manufactured by Roamer, a company founded in 1884 by Fritz Meyer, a producer of cylinder-escapement movements. The Anfibio is particularly significant for the durability, water resistance, and reliability of its case. Patented in 1955, the "Amphibio" line was introduced, consisting of two parts: the case housing the movement, the middle section, and the glass with a gasket that seals it hermetically—an innovative concept in traditional watch construction, which typically consists of three pieces: case, caseback, and bezel + glass. The two-piece winding stem with a "bayonet" attachment and a crown with an engraved logo make this piece the brand’s flagship model, as it was supplied to the Armed Forces of various countries. Specifically, this reference, bearing the numbers engraved on the outside of the case, indicates that it was supplied to the Royal Household Cavalry Regiment, a cavalry unit of the British Army active from 1650 to 1969 in the United Kingdom. The watch is in perfect working condition following a service performed by myself; any request for a test run will be accommodated. It is sold "as is" with no return policy, as shown in the photos and description, at a price of €700 plus shipping costs to be agreed upon via the Chrono 24 platform within the European Union; for destinations outside the EU, additional customs fees may apply, excluding countries currently involved in armed conflicts.
