Mauron Musy is an independent Manufacture whose specialty is to have turned the watch case into a genuine complication. How did it do this? By creating, a century after the invention of the o'ring seal, a patented system of total water-resistance...without any seals whatsoever. With this in mind, creating a model as "undressed" as possible was a real challenge! That's why Mauron Musy only tackled it after 15 years of practice, craftsmanship, patents and innovations. The MU05 Armure Squelette is the fruit of a particularly audacious approach. In keeping with its modern, architectural DNA, Mauron Musy has developed a multi-level aesthetic. Light streams into each of them, illuminating the barrel with a reflection, the escapement with a glint. The MU05 Armure Squelette doesn't show everything - at least, not at first glance. It's an original creation where the material asserts itself only to fade into the background. Each dial level has its own type of finish: polished, satin-brushed, grained, sunburst, drawn lines. The engravings that freeze the DNA of the Manufacture are all in "positive": they are flush with the surface, as close as possible to the eye. Each one is housed in its own cartridge, an additional design and machining difficulty that collectors will appreciate. And if you think you're looking at a monochrome, all-gray piece, the MU05 Armure Squelette is in fact composed of an infinite variety of shades, from the darkest and most matte to the lightest and brightest. In the end, the MU05 Armure Squelette unfolds on four superimposed levels of dials, consisting of a bezel, a rehaut, then two levels of differently treated dials, one in mother-of-pearl, the other in titanium. Sculptural, the MU05 Armure Squelette asserts its sobriety and, above all, its legibility. The timepiece is powered by its own 100% proprietary movement, 100% Swiss-made. This MM01-sk caliber, Mauron Musy's first manufacture movement, is self-winding, designed by the Manufacture and produced in-house at La Joux-Perret. Featuring 167 components in a thickness of 6.55 mm, it beats at 4 Hz for 55 hours of power reserve. True to its origins, it powers a MU05 Armure Squelette made entirely within a 60 km radius of the brand's workshops. An "ultra swissness" offered in a 44 mm titanium case. When the MU05 Armure Squelette was launched in its very first version just a few months ago, 11 of the 13 inaugural pieces found buyers in just a few days.
