Mido Baroncelli Chronograph Moonphase 42mm M027.625.17.041.00 The Baroncelli Chronograph Moonphase’s radiant blue sunburst dial showcases the mechanical intricacies of this horological marvel. Against this navy-blue background, not only can the date be read—displayed by a central hand featuring a blue-lacquered crescent moon on the hour ring—but also the day of the week and the month in a window within a sub-dial accented with turquoise-blue details. The calendar is complemented by the moon phase display at 6 o’clock, where the moon and golden stars traverse a deep blue sky. This exceptional timepiece also features an additional complication: the chronograph function. Time is measured by a central seconds hand, a 30-minute counter, and a 12-hour counter. A third sub-dial completes the display with a small seconds hand and the hours in 24-hour format. For even greater elegance and contrast, all display elements are silver-colored: the sub-dial bezels, the markings, as well as the faceted hour markers and the diamond-cut and sandblasted hands. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides ensures optimal readability. This new Baroncelli is housed in a highly polished stainless steel case with a diameter of 42 mm, which is water-resistant up to a pressure of 3 bar (30 m/100 ft). The chronograph is operated via two polished pushers on the sides. The sapphire crystal case back offers a view of the artfully decorated components of the Caliber 60. This Swiss automatic movement, featuring a calendar, moon phase, and chronograph, is highly reliable with a power reserve of up to 60 hours and remarkably precise thanks to a high-tech balance spring made of Nivachron—an innovative material that reduces the effects of magnetic fields and is also shock-resistant. True to the great Swiss watchmaking tradition, the caliber features refined finishes: blued screws, Côtes de Genève, and an oscillating weight with an engraved logo.
