This substantial 14-carat gold pocket watch (savonnette) combines two of the most sophisticated complications in haute horlogerie: a true minute repeater and a chronograph. Movement & Complications (Le Phare): The highly complex mechanical movement is a beautiful bare movement from the renowned Swiss manufacturer Le Phare (C. Barbezat-Baillot, Le Locle), recognisable by its characteristic movement architecture and visible centrifugal regulator. Minute Repeater: Upon activation of the side slide, the acoustic striking mechanism precisely strikes the hours (low tone), the quarter-hours (double strike) and each individual minute (high tone) on gong springs. Chronograph: Precise stopwatch function with classic column wheel control, operated via the pusher at 2 o’clock. Quality: Compensating balance, blued flat hairspring and fine chatons. Movement number: 203095. Case & dial (Jequier & Frères): The solid, smooth spring-back case is made of 14-carat yellow gold (585) and bears the official Swiss (squirrel) and German (imperial crown) hallmarks. The case is from the renowned goldsmiths Jequier & Frères (Fleurier), hallmarked ‘J&F’. Case number: 219333. Immaculate white enamel dial with delicate Arabic numerals, a gold fifth-of-a-second scale for the chronograph and a small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock. Magnificent Louis XV-style hands. Condition: The watch is in good condition. The case has two small dents; the enamel dial has no hairline cracks. The highly complex movement is visually flawless and clean. The watch glass has been replaced with a plastic one! Depending on the agreed price, I could have the watch polished and, if necessary, have the dents removed.
