The New Retro takes the horizontal rectangle of a 1930s dashboard clock and rebuilds it at wrist scale: the case measures 50 mm across, 44 mm tall and 12 mm thick, in steel with a matte black PVD coating, with the crown set at 12 o'clock under a black lacquer cap bearing the de Grisogono coat of arms. The black lacquered dial carries bold white Super-LumiNova Arabic numerals, a railway minute track and polished dauphine hands. A sapphire caseback shows the movement, and the case is water resistant to 30 meters. Inside is a Swiss self-winding mechanical movement running at 28,800 vibrations per hour with a 42-hour power reserve, showing hours and minutes only. The watch comes on its original glossy black alligator strap with saddle stitching, 22 mm at the lugs, closed by a steel folding clasp in matching matte black PVD.
