This is a stunning Universal Genève Tri-Compax Reference 22536 from the 1940s, housed in the highly desirable 37mm “jumbo” case—a size that was not only unusually large for the era but also one of the rarest and most collectible case variants among Tri-Compax enthusiasts. Its name derives from the triple calendar, moonphase, and chronograph complications—features that made this model a technical marvel of its time. But what sets this example apart isn’t just its functionality—it’s the details. Where many examples have been re-dialled or show significant wear, the dial on this piece is beautifully preserved, with a warm, even patina and just the right amount of characterful ageing. It’s also fitted to a rare Gay Frères bracelet, which remains in excellent condition, with strong stretch, undamaged springs and links.
