A very good example of the two-tone Datejust 36, with a steel and rose gold case to complement the black dial. To add a touch of glamour, this reference has diamonds set in to the hour markers. The Datejust is Rolex's jack-of-all-trades watch. It wasn't designed to be taken to the bottom of the sea or to the highest mountains, but as a faithful companion for everyday use. It was one of the first watches to display the date using a window instead of a pointer or subdial, letting users read the time much more easily. While the Daytona and Submariner may get more appreciation both at authorised dealers and vintage auctions, the Rolex Datejust has indisputably formed the backbone of the brand's collection since its introduction in 1945.
