The Armin Strom Mirrored Force Resonance Ruby is a study in contrast: raw geology meeting mechanical symmetry. Its dial is cut from natural ruby, each stone chosen for depth, fire, and the subtle inclusions that prove its origin. No two are alike. Formed over millions of years, the ruby’s shifting red tones play against the openworked architecture beneath, warming the precision with mineral intensity. Developed with a local stone artisan, the material choice reflects Claude Greisler’s belief that substance must carry meaning. In watchmaking, ruby already ensures performance as synthetic jewels within the movement; here, natural ruby steps forward, expressive and unapologetically alive. Inside the 43mm stainless steel case beats the in-house, manual-winding Calibre ARF21. Its patented Resonance Clutch synchronises two independent regulating systems, allowing twin balance wheels to oscillate in harmonic resonance for greater chronometric stability. A pusher at 2 o’clock resets both seconds counters in unison, offering a precise visual cue of resonance at work. Running at 3.5 Hz (25,200 vph) with a 48-hour power reserve, it translates centuries-old physics into contemporary watchmaking theatre. Hand-polished bevels, black-polished screws, perlage and circular graining animate the exposed mechanics, while Geneva stripes on the reverse add depth. Paired with a grey Alcantara strap and white Roman numerals, the composition balances classical codes with modern structure. Limited to just five pieces.
